Calculated Fields in Forms

In migrating from Formstack to Rubric, some members of our team are now lacking the option to have calculated fields, which they used quite regularly to streamline their workflow and improve functionality for Clubs.

For example one team member runs major events involving multiple Clubs, including our regular Night Markets, during which Clubs sell a range of international foods.

As part of this, we not only take a deposit from Clubs wanting to attend the event, we also takes orders of supplies like Biopak food packaging that Clubs can use at the event.

What we used to be able to do in Formstack is use calculations so that Clubs could enter the quantity of each item they wanted, and see a running total all within the form.

For the use cases I’m aware of, we we’d only need very basic calculations, e.g. allowing us to multiplying the quantity by the unit price, and a running total adding up all the costs of the various items ordered. We would also then want to be able to use this total as the payment amount needed to submit the form (possibly adding on an event deposit payment)
